We are blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world; with the rolling hills that surround the barn, the trickling fresh water stream that runs close by, and an array of wildlife blooming here.
It is our desire and privilege to protect and encourage our local wildlife and their habitats, while minimising our impact on the environment - which is why we put so much love, thought and care into land management, and our day to day practices as a company.
We are very pleased to announce Waterside Barn now has an EV Charger! Free for guests to use - just let us know if you're bringing your electric vehicle and we will ensure the fob and cable are provided to you upon arrival!
In Waterside Barn's garden, we leave the wetlands untouched to encourage wild flowers, plants and reeds, which in turn have developed a whole new habitat for different species including the protected water vole and the insect population. We have additionally planted wild flower seeds here.
We are incredibly proud that the land we provide has accommodated and encouraged wildlife to thrive. We have now spotted: a family of red kites, a family of stouts, badgers and foxes, the protected water vole, woodpeckers, bats, owls, an array of butterflies, bumblebees and insects, and an increase in the bird population as a whole.
New trees were planted around the cottage in addition to a number of quick thorn hedges. We hope that this will create new habitats for our local birds and wildlife as they continue to grow!
The Owners had been designing and developing a bank next to the cottage brimming with a varied selection of flowers to encourage the insect, bumble bee and butterfly population at Waterside Barn.
